Local tips for the drive
- Take Exit 11 off Highway 101. The Greenwich farm strip on Highway 1 (Noggins, Hennigar’s, Stirling, Elderkin’s) and the Starrs Point Road U-picks are all within a few minutes of each other.
- Go early on weekends. Wagon rides and haunted houses run mostly Saturdays and Sundays, and that’s when the lots fill up.
- Bring cash and a backup bag. Some U-picks prefer cash or debit, and you’ll want a sturdy bag for the cider and pies.
- Late October means fewer varieties. Popular apples like Honeycrisp get picked out first. Call ahead if you’re after one kind.
